Slovak Ambassador in Nairobi Michal Mlynár opened new school garden in central Kenya. Along with five other schools, the garden is part of People in Peril Association (PIPA) food education project in the country.
"I like meeting the people of Kenya and the project’s implementers. I can see tangible results. I am glad that Slovak NGOs such as PIPA are involved in development cooperation, particularly in rural areas of Kenya", says Ambassador Michal Mlynár.
A project to fight hunger through an innovative approach to food education.
PIPA along with its Kenyan partner SEANET and financial support by SlovakAid have been improving food nutrition at Kenyan schools for almost two years now. Together with the help of pupils, they have set up school gardens and now cultivate various crops.
The schools involved are no longer dependent on emergency food packages from the government.
